Chief Executive Officer - Town & Country




Town & Country is a non-profit Orange County, California Life Plan Community affiliated with The Christian and Missionary Alliance. Founded in 1945, Town & Country ministers to 300 residents and their families with a staff of 285. The current leader of Town & Country has been in this role for 35 years and plans to retire in the summer of 2021. AGORA Search Group has been engaged to find the next President/CEO and the successful candidate will have an opportunity to come alongside the current leader for a transition period. Town & Country’s mission is to “Demonstrate the Care, Hope and Love of Christ to Senior Adults.”

Town & Country currently provides three levels of care. (Independent, Assisted and Skilled Nursing). However, in the summer of 2021 a new 88 bed Memory Care facility will be completed. This new $35,000,000 facility uniquely positions Town & Country to meet the growing demand for Memory Care while providing a full suite of services in one strategic location. The current budget projects revenue of $22,000,000 increasing to $29,000,000 when the new Memory Care building is open and at capacity. The majority of revenue is private pay, with the skilled nursing component funded by Medical and other insurance. This is a compelling opportunity to lead Town & Country during a period of transformation and growth.





THE ORGANIZATION


Town & Country began with the vision of Mrs. Jennie Suppes a member of a local Christian and Missionary Alliance Church who felt called to build a furlough home for missionaries. Mrs. Suppes had very little resources, but she prayed for a specific amount of money. Within a short amount of ti

me oil was discovered on her property. Interestingly, the oil well did not run dry until the exact amount of money that Mrs. Suppes had prayed for was completely supplied.


Town & Country’s current campus was constructed in 1975 and has been continually updated to provide a healthy, safe and enjoyable environment for the people who live there. The mix of Independent, Assisted and Skilled Nursing services enables residents to be a part of the Town & Country community for many years. In 2019 through prayer and diligence, the Board of Directors determined that expanding services into Memory Care was God’s will for the organization, and plans began to design and construct a facility that would meet the needs of current residents and the surrounding community.


Town & Country is a community with a foundation of faith and is a wholly owned subsidiary of The Christian and Missionary Alliance. The Christian and Missionary Alliance has four Life Plan Communities. This


connection of faith builds a foundation at Town & Country to be a community of care that is relationship focused not simply numbers driven. The organization is a 501(c3) not-for profit and an equal opportunity employer. The CEO is the only employee required to sign a statement of faith and Town & Country has no religious test for any other of its staff or residents.

THE POSITION


The President/CEO of Town & Country will be the executive in charge of the on-site management of all phases of Town & Country operations and report to the Board of Directors. This leader will be one who understands the opportunities and challenges of leading a Life Plan Community. The next CEO will be the face of the organization and the critical link to its foundation of faith and to The Christian and Missionary Alliance.


PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Spiritual Leadership – Town & Country is Life Plan Community established on a foundation of faith. The next CEO will be able to strengthen and build upon this foundation.

  • Strategic Leadership – The industry around Life Plan communities is rapidly changing. The next CEO will be a decisive leader that is able to communicate with and empower others to carry a vision forward.

  • Servant Leadership – The next CEO will be a person that is self-aware, relationally focused and one who walks with great integrity and humility.

  • Solvent Leadership – The President/CEO will be able to manage and grow the financial foundation of Town & Country


CORE COMPETENCIES

  • Strong, relational and decisive leader

  • Experience in leading a health care and or Life Plan Community

  • Excellent Financial Management

  • Experience with a Non-Profit Board

  • A foundation of faith that aligns with the Christian and Missionary Alliance

  • A bachelor’s degree is required, and a master’s degree is preferred

  • A Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF) license or be willing to pursue
