Chief Executive Officer - Kids Across America
Kid’s Across America (KAA), in partnership with AGORA Search Group, is seeking their next CEO.
In the Old Testament one can read the story of Esther. Esther was challenged with these words, “you have come to the kingdom for such a time as this”. In the midst of the racial tensions happening in our nation, Kid’s Across America is a ministry that is positioned for a “such a time as this” moment.
As the current CEO plans for his retirement, KAA is excited to partner with AGORA Search Group to locate their next CEO who can position Kid’s Across America as a premiere camping ministry for kids from an urban setting. With the leadership of a new CEO, Kid’s Across America will continue to build Christian leaders by encouraging, equipping, and empowering urban youth and their mentors.
KAA began in 1978 when Joe White of Kanakuk Kamps started dedicating the last week of Kamp to serve the camping needs of urban youth. After 10 years, Kanakuk established a separate non-profit corporation and constructed the first camp that would become KAA. The “I’m Third” Foundation was formed, and in September of 2000 the “I’m Third” Foundation became Kid’s Across America.
Since 1991, KAA has positively impacted more than 150,000 urban kids and been part of refreshing and energizing over 20,000 youth leaders. There is a dedicated team of full-time staff that serve KAA throughout the year, and this team is joined by 500 college students during the summer to form the KAA Team. As kids come to Kamp, they are usually sleeping during the bus ride, but on the way home, the bus is filled with energy and enthusiasm as each person is sharing their experiences from Kamp and how their life was changed.

KAA is positioned well with great office facilities, excellent camping environment, a committed staff, a dedicated board of directors, and a stable financial structure. All these factors work together for a CEO to build a bright future for Kid’s Across America.
Kid’s Across America is located in the beautiful Ozark Mountains near Branson, MO. Branson has developed a reputation as an ideal place to live and work because of the abundant natural beauty, many choices of family friendly activities, a mild climate, and a central location for ease of travel to other destinations.
Being located in Branson offers a great opportunity for urban youth from Kansas City, St. Louis, Little Rock, Oklahoma City, Memphis, Nashville, and Dallas to be able to experience Kamp all within a one day drive.
The CEO of Kid’s Across America will be the executive in charge of KAA. This person will become the face of KAA in the community and around the nation for establishing relationships and fundraising. The CEO will be someone who has the business skills needed to oversee a team of hundreds, while also having a heart of compassion to connect well with the youth and mentors.
The CEO will work in partnership with the Board of Directors to ensure that the mission and vision of KAA are fulfilled . All the work of the CEO will be done in a manner that glorifies their Lord, Jesus Christ.
A strong and close working relationship with Kanakuk Ministries is necessary for the ongoing success of KAA. Although each organization is separate and independent, there is a common recruiting and mutual exchange of summer staff. Additionally, there is a strong fundraising connection for KAA through the families and organization of Kamp Kanakuk.
During the summer months, life can be very busy at KAA. The CEO will spend a significant amount of time at each of the KAA Kamps. The CEO must be able to lead his/her team as they work long hours to enable a successful summer camping experience.
