Located just north of Seattle near Puget Sound, Mukilteo Presbyterian Church seeks a mission-minded, collaborative pastor to lead them into their next season of ministry. Building on their rich legacy of stable leadership, MPC is committed to growing a congregation that is Biblically-centered, outwardly focused, and culturally relevant; reaching into the community to make life-long disciples of Christ.
Serving as the next Senior Pastor of MPC means partnering with a loving congregation of deeply committed believers who are eager to be the fragrance of Christ in their community. It is an opportunity for a gifted pastor to bring his or her passion for preaching the Word, equipping others, and empowering ministry, so the hope of the Gospel can permeate one of the least-churched regions in America.
We believe that Jesus Christ must be at the center of our lives, and making disciples of Jesus at the core of our ministry.
We believe the Bible is the unique and authoritative Word of God, and equips and instructs believers to walk closely with Jesus in faith and live according to His will. The prominence of God’s Word over our lives shapes our priorities, and the unrivaled authority of the Bible directs our actions to be in concert with Christ’s very best for our lives.
We believe in living out the whole of the Great Commission – including evangelism, spiritual formation, compassion, and redemptive justice in our communities and around the world.
WHAT WE BELIEVE
MPC takes great joy in proclaiming the good news that God came to us in Jesus to break the power of sin and death over our lives. Because of Jesus, we can live in right relationship with God and with those around us. We are forgiven and we can walk in newness of life. Alleluia! In grateful response to what God has done for us, we seek to live as faithful followers of Jesus, looking to Him as our teacher, model and friend.
We take the Bible seriously at MPC, seeking not only to understand the Word, but to stand under it in faithful obedience. Our goal in preaching and teaching is to “present every believer mature in Christ” (Col 1:28).
MPC has a missional focus: we exist not only to support and encourage one another but to serve those beyond the walls of the church, joining God in his mission to reach the lost. At MPC, every covenant partner has a part to play in this mission. We are effective insofar as we allow the Spirit of God to empower us.
Believing that everyone has been called and ordained by God by virtue of their baptism, we seek to equip every covenant partner for individual ministry.
