Evangelical Free Church of Chico (EFCC) is a multi-generational, Bible-centered, community church located in Chico, California. For nearly 70 years, they have served as a crucial partner in the community with an emphasis on service and outreach. EFCC is a congregation within the Evangelical Free Church of America.
EFCC is a church of over 400 committed believers who value their faith, each other, and outreach to the community. They are a generous church who give to Kingdom work, missionaries, and local outreach programs. Since 2018, they have provided significant relief ministry to hundreds after their neighboring town, Paradise, was mostly destroyed by a wildfire.
EFCC is seeking their next senior leader who will build on a rich history of ministry in Chico and partner with them to make an even bigger impact on the surrounding area in the years ahead.
In 1952, EFCC was started as a church plant from a neighboring Evangelical Free church. After a period of growth, the church built their first building in 1956 that seated over 250. Eventually outgrowing that facility, EFCC built a bigger 550+ seat auditorium in 1980. Adding a gymnasium in 2004 provided the space to hold sports camps, Upward Basketball, and other events for the community. In its 70-year history, EFCC has been the source of two other churches: Valley Community Church, which served the community for 10 years, and Firm Family Church, which is active today.
EFCC is a theologically conservative, congregationally governed, Elder-led church with a staff who equips and empowers their congregation toward spiritual formation and Kingdom impact. They love to worship together around Bible centered teaching and discipleship.
The Lead Pastor of EFCC will be a man of character and prayer who demonstrates a history of loving people well while preaching the Truth of scripture.
