Bear Valley Church was founded in January 1959, and just celebrated 60 years of serving locally in Lakewood, in the greater Denver metro area, and all over the world. They have been in their current building overlooking beautiful Kendrick Lake Park in Lakewood since 1991.
They love to participate in fulfilling the challenge Jesus gave all his followers to “go and make disciples of all nations” (Matthew 28:18-20). This calling from Jesus has been at the heartbeat of Bear Valley Church’s mission throughout their history.

The Lead Pastor, being led by the Holy Spirit, will provide vision and spiritual direction for Bear Valley Church - primarily by preaching and teaching the Word of God, leading our staff, and equipping those in the body of Christ to love and serve others.
Primary communicator preaching the Bible effectively with love, wisdom, and conviction in order to “shepherd the flock of God under your care” (1 Peter 5:2) and seek to draw the lost to Christ.
Principal vision caster who will lead and partner with the governance board to communicate, equip, and engage the other pastors, staff, and congregation to implement and execute the vision.
Relational leader who will effectively guide and further develop the Bear Valley Church leadership and staff by empowering them and fostering a culture of discipleship and growth toward the character and priorities of Jesus and His church.
Demonstrated call to the Gospel ministry
Master of Divinity degree from an accredited seminary
Ten years of experience in a larger multi-staff church (or) 3+ years Senior Pastor experience in a church that experienced growth during that time
Committed to the vision of BVC
Affirms the BVC Statement of Faith
Adaptable leadership style with the maturity and energy to lead a multi-generational congregation toward unity in the love and service of God and the church
Ability to preach and teach effectively to a multi-generational congregation eager to engage the word more deeply
