Chief Executive Officer - Cherry Street Mission Ministries

September 24, 2019

AGORA Search Group is pleased to announce our partnership with Cherry Street Mission Ministries to locate their next CEO.

The CEO is the spiritual leader of CSMM, and will be considered the vision caster, face, and leader of Cherry Street Mission Ministries.  Cherry Street was started more than 70 years ago.  What began as simply a place for food and shelter has grown to become a community access point for food, shelter, spiritual guidance, vocational training, and relationship building.

There is a difference between serving poverty and breaking poverty.  The current team at CSMM is pursuing a mission to break poverty in their local area.  The ministry approach at Cherry Street is already innovative enough that other missions come to Cherry Street to learn and capture a vision for their own city.  Cherry Street is a place of local difference and world influence.  God’s Kingdom is growing through the work of Cherry Street Mission Ministries.

Faithfulness to Christ

As an expression of the Church and God’s ministry,
we are committed to perform God’s work in faithfulness to Jesus Christ.

We continuously reflect the love of Jesus Christ by engaging relationships
to prepare and perfect individuals, fully qualifying a person to achieve wholeness
in life and one’s ministry to God.

We believe that through the resurrection of Christ,
every person receives a new life of hope by which one can experience oneness with God.

The CEO will serve as the Spiritual Leader.

The CEO will ensure that CSMM continues to be a Christ-Centered Ministry.  This Christ-Centered approach is important in all the many facets of CSMM.  With Christ as the Center they will continue to develop a spirit of collaboration and cooperation between staff, ministry partners, donors, and those who are served by the organization’s many programs.

The CEO will direct the organization’s mission.

CSMM is committed to breaking the cycle of poverty.  The CEO will ensure the continued  advancement of this mission through the development and support of comprehensive services and Christ-centered, purposeful discipleship.

The CEO will represent Cherry Street Mission Ministries.

Cherry Street is currently well respected in the region and around the world. The CEO will conduct themselves in a way that honors God in all of their activities and interactions. This individual will be a person of integrity in every area of their life. The CEO will serve as the face of Cherry Street for those receiving ministry, and for those who are serving and supporting CSMM.

The CEO will oversee the operation of the organization.

A few years ago, Cherry Street made a significant decision to divide the role of President and CEO.  Currently, the President is tasked with the daily operations, and the CEO is responsible for overall vision, strategy, relationship building, and team development.  The CEO is responsible for oversight and therefore must maintain an awareness and pulse of the organization and daily operations.  Cherry Street Mission Ministries currently has 44 full-time and 16 part-time staff while operating from 5 commercial buildings and 3 residential facilities.  Approximately 6 years ago, the Life Revitalization Center was opened.  An ongoing Capital Campaign has allowed for more than 125,000 square feet of this facility to be renovated.  However, there is an additional 125,000 square feet of space to be utilized in the future.

The CEO will serve as the principle resource to the Board of Directors.

The Board of Directors is currently composed of business and ministry leaders that care deeply about the vision and mission of CSMM.  The CEO is responsible to inform and engage this team as Cherry Street expands and moves forward.
