Calvary Church in Los Gatos, California has a 71-year history of loving and serving the community. They are seeking their next Pastor of Family Ministries, a member of the Executive Leadership Team, who will guide them in bringing the message of God’s love to families in the Bay Area.

Calvary Church has a beautiful campus that serves the community throughout the week with sports camps, Kiddie Kampus, and many other ministries. They are blessed with amazing spaces like their gymnasium, classrooms, and worship environments. Their desire is to build bridges between families and faith through strategically executed activities and outreach.
Calvary Church has a desire to have a wholistic discipleship approach that includes both evangelism and equipping. Calvary Church desires each weekend service to prioritize the Spirit, the Word, and Guests. In addition, Calvary encourages attenders to regularly invest & invite people who do not attend a church.
Research consistently reveals the Bay Area as one of the most unchurched regions in the country. The majority of families in Silicon Valley will not attend a church once this year. Calvary Church believes God has uniquely positioned them at this time and place to reach people in the Silicon Valley for Jesus.
Calvary Church is prayerfully pursuing a gifted and dynamic Pastor of Family Ministries who will oversee the strategy and implementation of the Family Milestones to maximize Calvary’s discipleship plan from birth to emerging adults.
The position will serve on the Leadership Team and manage the Family Ministry Team through guided and directed leadership as well as team development. The Pastor of Family Ministries will guide and mentor a team of 6 ministry heads within the department.
This opportunity will best fit a wise and experienced leader who is relational and has a demonstrated history of team management, visionary leadership, and problem-solving. This leader will demonstrate a passion for reaching unchurched families and create strategies for building bridges into the community.

Able to be an example of faith to Calvary staff, attenders and those outside the Church
Able to work well as part of the overall Calvary team and within the Calvary staff plumblines
Staff management experience in a dynamic and growth-oriented environment preferred
Agreement with Calvary’s Statement of Faith and Church Covenant
An understanding of Silicon Valley culture and the unique challenges it creates for the life and growth of the church
M.Div. (or equivalent) preferred, four-year degree required
Demonstrated leadership skills in a team context
Lead and help implement the Family Ministry team’s strategy for the Milestones through direct leadership, oversight, and development.
Manage, develop, train and empower staff/leaders working within the scope of Family Ministries.
Oversee and guide the continued development of children’s and student ministries
Provide pastoral care, development and oversight of emerging adults, including their integration into life at Calvary post-high school and the transition from student to adult
Oversee and be responsible for budgets and administration for Family Ministries.
Work closely with Pastor of Community Development to care for, pastor, and develop ways to engage with all members within a family
Along with the other members of the Leadership Team, partner with the Lead Pastor to shape and accomplish the church’s vision/mission through ministry effectiveness evaluation, discernment, decision making, planning and overall direction of church ministries.
Works closely with and carries out other assignments as directed by the Lead Pastor
Contribute and serve as a member of the ministry team including but not limited to Pastor of the Day, Pastor on Call, hospital visits, prayer team, orientation assignments, staff retreats and other pastoral duties as required of a ministry staff person at Calvary
